Busy Weekend and some links

Had a fantastic, if very busy, weekend. Saturday was Halo 2 LAN at Murray’s place, which was excellent, and Sunday was deep-sea fishing for Peter Nghe and Steve’s birthdays.

It was my first time actually deep-sea fishing, and I was surprised by how big the swell was. Seriously, we’re talking 2.5-3m swell – taller than the roof of the boat we were on when we were in the troughs. And for the first time, like, ever, I actually caught something – a leatherjacket and a flathead. The biggest bugger about the whole trip was that we had to be at the dock at 7am. On Sunday. When I’d been out till midnight playing Halo 2. Needless to say, we all had a lovely nap that arvo. :)

Eve Online is great – I’ve recently been able to afford to buy a destroyer, which is one step up from the starting frigate class. Now, to equip it with good guns and go on a trip…

Oh, and the wushu website is now live. Check it out, if you like. The current version is an interim one until I can build a wordpress-based site.

Comment spam and stuff

Well, that didn’t take long. The website was up for a week, and I’ve already had to download a couple of commentspam purging plugins for WordPress… Sucks to be you, stupid free poker site!

I failed my Ps test. Again. I’ve got another one booked soon.

Been to see heaps of exhibitions and concerts lately:

  • Harry Connick Jr and the Sydney Symphony: Was very good, if a little bit less symphony-ish than I expected.
  • Bugs Bunny on Broadway: Lots of fun, especially if you’re like me and have seen a fair percentage of all the Warner Bros cartoons ever made.
  • Eye on Photography: A history of Australian photography. It was kinda cool.
  • Egypt Exhibition at the Australian Museum: Awesome. I mean, what else could it be? It had mummies, and mummified heads as well!
  • Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2004: Truly an awesome photography exhibit, with some truly amazing photos.

As you can see on the right, I’m playing Eve Online at the moment. It is very good. Think Massively Multiplayer Elite, and you’ve got an idea of where it starts.

New CMS!

Well, here’s inocuo’s new look. There’s a new CMS powering the backend (bye bye, Blogger), which means that there’s still some growing pains to get over. For the moment, no PDF links and no wallpapers, until I can add them in again.

So, do you like the new look? Tell me so in the comments! And tell me if you want a linkup in the ‘Links’ section too.

(oh, and before you mention it, the site doesn’t look nearly as nice in IE as it does in other, actually standards compliant browsers. Microsoft can blow me.)

Moving to new server

inocuo.org is moving to a new server over the next few weeks, so there certainly won’t be any posting in that time. Although that’s nothing new at the moment.

With the new server will hopefully come a new CMS and new look. Here’s hoping!

Lack of updates…

Yes, I know there’s been a big lack of updates here on inocuo. I’ve been finding myself spread a little thin, and inocuo has suffered because of it. So what readers I have left – don’t expect regular updates… ^_^

Anyway, stuff’s been good. Trang and I had a lovely holiday in Byron, Trang’s sister Ly came to visit from America, it was my nephew’s first birthday, and we’re going to visit Helena for the long weekend in Canberra. Should be fun!

Anniversary!

Well, today it is seven years since Trang and I started going out. That’s a long time, by any measure, but it certainly has been the time of my life.

Here’s to many more!

At manifest!

Well, it’s Sunday morning of manifest, and it’s all good so far. I don’t have a digital camera with me this year, so I’m hoping to organise with someone to get some photos to put in the gallery.
