Well, I’ve had my bit of excitement for the day today… Some script kiddy mailbombed the litestep mailing list. The maintainer posted the mailbomber’s IP to the list, so I tracked him down and forwarded a whole lot of info to the maintainer. Ahhhhhh, the warm glow of punishing the wicked. Now that’s what sysadmining is all about.
New site design is in the works, since Shay decided to make milgram.net all grey. Probably time I changed it anyway.
Well, I’m back.
News:
I dislocated my patella at Wu Shu last Tuesday… It was quite painful. I’m currently in a brace, and will be for a number of weeks. So I currently look like Herr Flick of the Gestapo. (That’s an ‘Allo ‘Allo reference, for those of you who don’t recognise it. I’m not wearing jackboots or anything.)
Net access from home through Uni ran out; so I’ve been netless, which meant I didn’t know about:
I won ‘Anime Abstraction’, a wallpaper of the week contest at Abstract Anime with my newish wallpaper ‘Beserker’, available for viewing in the wallpapers section. Yay me!
(time out for Nick to do a little dance, which looks pretty stupid because of his leg…)
Also saw from a link at /. that the US DoD is reconsidering its nuclear weapons strategies. I’m not that worried, though, no. What will make me worried is when one of the ‘Axis of evil’ countries builds a 200-foot mech that can only be piloted by 14 year olds that no amount of nuclear weapons can touch.
Or maybe not.
Seriously, it is disturbing to see the US government falling back into its cold war patterns so easily. All of those people who were keeping stocks in defense must be very happy indeed, the bastards…
