Further to the previous craziness about operation Enduring Freedom Trading cards, here’s the Offical Topps Site, with a checklist.
Link from memepool.com.

A whole bunch of articles about ‘fourth-generation’ warfare.

Personally, I think ‘fourth generation’ is a misnomer. What it is is the US being forced to respond in the same way to other large states when confronted with irregular, partisan-style fighting. The result is that large, powerful states must learn that their greatest strengths are also their greatest weaknesses. This applies to many things. Big countries are going to have to learn that you can’t just go around walking all over whoever you like forever without the walkees getting pissed off and striking back, any way they can.

This applies to Australia as well, but explicating this further is left as an exercise for the reader, as I’m tired of writing about it.

Classic article at salon.com about people who get high at LAN parties. Hmmmm.

I hate freeservers.

Not only do I have to deal with the auto-inserted ads, with no control over where they go on the page, but I’ve run up against the disk usage limit, and because it seems that this only updates irregularly, I can’t upload my thesis, even though I’ve deleted a few of the older wallpapers to make space.

I think that perhaps I need to budget for moving this site ASAP.

In the meantime, there are a fair few broken links now. Apologies, but I’ve got to go on some shopping missions today and don’t have time to fix them.

Again, sorry.

Well, we’re moving.

Rommel, Trang, and I are moving to Darlinghurst. It’s a great place, with only one drawback in my book: no cable, and thus no cable modem.

Bugger.

Anyway, the place is nice, and big meaning that there will be a dedicated games room, with PCs, PSXs etc. Hurrah!

Stay tuned for more details.

Just walked out of Games Paradise, where I purchased the latest Dragon magazine. What should I stumble across while there but Operation Enduring Freedom collector’s cards.

Apparently with every pack you get a pack of “Boy Crazy” cards.

I will make no further comment.

I was going to post something about the unbelievably big deal Americans seem to make about Halloween, but then I remembered that the Melbourne Cup is next week, and realised that I was doing the whole living-in-glass-house-and-throwing-stones thing. In fact, if I were to choose between celebrating a pagan festival of horror or a horse race, I think I would choose….

to invade Chaka Zulu’s empire with my Panzer army.

Whoops, no that’s Civ. Teach me to read game reviews before posting.
