I figured I really should give some more details on what I’ll be doing with this place once uni work is over.

Stuff I am thinking about doing

  • Looking into getting a domain name and moving to a real web host.

  • Putting up the rest of my uni work in pdf form, including my thesis.

  • Adding all of the wallpapers I’ve made since the last time I updated them (some time ago).

  • Implementing in some fashion the link-page-generating stuff I was playing around with before, or possibly

  • Migrating this place to some sort of database-driven craziness, like php and mysql or Perl and some sql thing. I guess it depends on if I change web hosts. If php/sql is available, I’ll switch to that, else I’ve written some Perl scripts to generate pages from an XML-ish db file, so all I would need is CGI access. If anyone reading knows a good place, drop me a mail.

Anyway, got to get back to essay-writing now.

Apologies for the lack of updates. Thesis has been handed in, one of the other essays is finished, and only one remains. Hooray!

After all of the humour involved with the post below, I thought I should take a moment to be serious.

Opera Rocks! Seriously.

This message is for Shay especially. Dude, you won’t be saying ‘fuck Opera’ once its juicy software goodness is yours.

Gesture recognition is so cool. I keep finding myself doing the Opera gestures in other stuff as well, and being mildly surprised when it doesn’t work.

Only problem I’ve found is with Blogger. When entering text for a post, the text window is tiny. I’m loading the blogger troubleshooting forums as I write to see what can be done about it.
